ZPBP2 (Zona Pellucida Binding Protein 2) is a Protein Coding gene. An important paralog of this gene is ZPBP.
A synthesized peptide derived from human ZPBP.
ZPBP is one of several proteins that are thought to participate in secondary binding between acrosome-reacted sperm and the egg-specific extracellular matrix, the zona pellucida (McLeskey et al., 1998 [PubMed 9378618]). May be implicated in gamete interaction during fertilization.
ZPR1 is a zinc finger-containing protein that is capable of binding to the intracellular tyrosine kinase domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor. Stimulation of mammalian cells with epidermal growth factor reduces ZPR1 affinity for the EGFR and leads to an accumulation of the protein in the nucleus. The ZPR1 zinc finger is necessary for its association with the EGFR.
